Benton K. and Virginia "Ginnie" Cochran of Washington, W.Va., celebrated their 60th anniversary on Aug. 10.

They were married in 1951 by the bride's father, Fred E. Dennis in their home in Marietta.

He is the son of the late James E. and Mary M. Cochran of Parkersburg.

She is the youngest daughter of the late Evang. Fred E. and Bessie Dennis of Marietta.

They retired from the Wood County Board of Education, he having served as transportation coordinator and she as secretary to the principal at Parkersburg High School.

They are active in the Church of Christ with Mr. Cochran speaking at different congregations each Sunday. They farm in southern Wood County where they raise registered angus cattle.

They are the parents of three children, James E. (Pamela) of Fayetteville, N.C.; Janie M. (Craig) Corley of Nederland, Texas; and Peggy S. (Paul) Neel of Chesapeake, Ohio. They have one grandson, Tad K. Smith, and his wife, Lindsay, of Nederland, and one great-granddaughter, Riley Vesper Smith, also of Nederland.

They celebrated their anniversary this past week by returning to Niagara Falls, Canada, where they spent their honeymoon.
