Ellsworth and Oncie Archer of Rockport, W.Va., will celebrate their 65th anniversary Aug. 17.
They were married Aug 17, 1946 in south Parkersburg by the Rev. J.P. McKinney.
He is the son of the late John Riley and Elsie Holliday Archer. He was employed by the B&O Chessie System and CSX Railroad for 44 1/2 years. He also worked for the Wood County Board of Education for 9 1/2 years, driving school bus number 52.

She is the daughter of the late Homer and Missouri Young Thompson. She worked for the Wilmar Restaurant and was a housewife and mother.
The couple have three children, Junior Archer and his wife, Sharon, Kathleen Heibel of Rockport and Dale Archer and his wife, Martha, of Mineral Wells. They have seven grandchildren, Delilah Stockpole, Melissa Miller and Michelle Wells of Parkersburg, Nicholas Archer of Mineral Wells, Tammy Fury of Mineral Wells, David H. Miller of South Carolina and Elizabeth Hicks of Rockport. They have four great-grandchildren, Cinthi Talbot, Joshua Fury, Courtney Stockpole and Chelsie Wells of Parkersburg, and one great-great-grandchild, Brianna Talbot. They are members of the 14th Avenue Gospel Mission.
