Tom and Sandra Sullivan of Washington, celebrated their 40th anniversary with a family dinner and a trip to Stonewall Resort.
They were married June 11, 1971, at Bryner Chapel in Joker, W.Va., with the Rev. Glendon McKee officiating.
He is the son of Eileen and the late Earl Sullivan. She is the daughter of John and Mamie Dawson.
He was employed as a chemist and foreman for Mt. State Steel in Parkersburg and as a lab technician for Cabot Corporation in Waverly. He is now retired.
She is a homemaker, having been a teacher at Calhoun County High School during the earlier years of their marriage.
They are the parents of two daughters, Lisa (Mike) Roberts and Ann (Joe) Lambert, both of Parkersburg.
They have four grandsons, Aidan, Carrick and Truman Roberts and Elliot Lambert.
