James (Jim) and Dianna Kerns of Murphytown will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 18. They were married by Aaron Herren at the Grand Central Ave. Church of Christ in Vienna, W.Va.
He is the son of the late Ernest Kerns and Olice (Smith) Kerns of Murphytown. He is retired from E.I. DuPont and the U.S. Army Reserve. She is the daughter of the late Dave and Anne (Sheppard) Moore of Vienna. She is retired from Wood County Schools as a school secretary. They are members of the North End Church of Christ where he is a deacon and she teaches a class.
The couple have three daughters, Angela (David) Charonis of Pittsburg, Julia Linville of Parkersburg and Lori (Dennis Elliot) Carder of Parkersburg. They also have four grandchildren, Troy Gilbert of Parkersburg, Felicia Linville, Abby Gilbert of Pittsburg and Nicholas Linville of Morgantown.

There will be a celebration reception from 2-4 p.m. June 18 at the North End Church of Christ. Gifts, and also, if so inclined, donate a non- perishable food item to the church food pantry in their honor.
