MINERAL WELLS - Coldwater Creek opened more than a dozen premium retail stores in 2010 and continues to provide excellent customer service at the company's distribution and call center in Mineral Wells.
Bobbi Earle, investor relations specialist at Coldwater Creek, said the company opened 19 premium retail stores in 2010, more than double the number of stores opened in 2009.
The Idaho-based company's distribution center, which also houses a call center, has been located in Mineral Wells since 1999. At the time, Coldwater Creek operated two retail stores, but that number has since grown to more than 375 stores.

The nearly one million square-foot distribution facility, located 10 miles south of Parkersburg, employs around 600 people. The building also houses a retail outlet store.
"The facility is Coldwater Creek's sole distribution center, handling distribution for both our direct and retail businesses," said Earle.
Despite the economic climate, the company added 19 stores in 2010, up from eight stores in 2009.
"We have seen what we believe to be a continued softness across the retail apparel space," she said.
For the fifth consecutive year, Coldwater Creek won two prestigious awards from the National Retail Federation. The company again placed sixth in the NRF's Top 10 Customer Service Awards and placed 24th in the NRF's Favorite 50 Online Retailers.
The company added six stores in 2010 with LEED status (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), bringing the total to 20 LEED stores.
"LEED status was established by the U.S. Green Building Council as a benchmark for design, construction and operations practices that meet specified standards to reduce the negative impact of buildings and tenant spaces on occupants and the environment," said Earle.
