William F.and Barbara I. Friese of Rockport will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on March 11. They were married in LeBanan, Va. on March 11, 1961, by the Rev. James A. Shugart. He is the son of the late Merritt F. and Laura A. Friese of Parkersburg. She is the daughter of the late Clifton E. and Eva I. VanFossen of Parkersburg.
The couple have three children, Rhonda Owens and her husband, Charles of Rockport; Christopher Friese and his wife, Jamie, of Rockport; and the late William A. Friese. They also have 12 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren.
Mr. Friese is a retired employee of 37 years at Washington Works DuPont.

Mrs. Friese was an employee of the Dils Brothers and of Krogers bakery.
A small celebration with immediate family members is planned on their anniversary,with a large celebration, including friends and other acquaintances at a later date when the weather permits.
