Kaitlyn Elizabeth McAlarney and Matthew Joseph Weekley were united in marriage on Aug. 7, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Marietta. Pastor Don Hart and Pastor Judy Jones officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Wayne and Cheryl McAlarney and the granddaughter of Hollie and Ruth Handschumacher and Robert and Mildred McAlarney, all of Whipple. She is a graduate of Fort Frye High School and Washington State Community College with associate degrees in early childhood development and business management.

The groom is the son of Jeff and Leslie Weekley and the grandson of Richard and Ramona Williams and Evelyn Weekley and the late Jimmie Weekley, all of Marietta. He is a Warren High School graduate and received a degree in business management from West Virginia University at Parkersburg.

Both are employed in the family business, McAlarney Pools, Spas & Billiards.

The bride, escorted by her father, walked down the yellow brick road wearing an off-white strapless a-line gown with beaded lace overlay scallops at the neckline with hand embroidered designs and crystals on the bodice. The waistline was wrapped by a champagne satin and a scalloped semi-chapel length train. Completing her ensemble was a fingertip veil edged with gold threading. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses and calla lillies with streaming champagne ribbons.

Johnna Smith and Breanna Stimpert, friends of the couple, served as matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Marquie Brooker, Erica Metts, Amanda Adams, all friends of the bride, and Jessica, Jennifer and Megan Weekley, sisters of the groom. They wore tea-length strapless dress in chocolate with inset satin waistband in champagne and carried calla lilies. Flower girls were Makayla McAlarney, niece of the bride; Natalie Williams, cousin of the groom; Alexis Smith and Brooklyn Stimpert.

Jeremiah Kuhn and Andrew Wesel served as best men. Groomsmen were Bryan Williams, cousin of the groom; Justin Smith, Garrett Fleming, Cory Stimpert, Scott Bartlett and Tim Holbert. Ushers were Kyle McAlarney, brother of the bride; Josh Treadway and Adam Schaad. Ring bearer was Josh Williams, cousin of the groom. Alex Shaw provided music as did vocalist Justin Arthur.

Candles were lit in memory of loved ones David Schott, godfather and uncle of the bride, Daryl Handschumacher, uncle of the bride, Steven King, brother of the bride's sister-in-law and Jimmie Weekley, grandfather of the groom.

Jessica McAlarney, sister-in-law, and Tracie Pierpont, cousin of the bride, registered guests.

The bridal party was transported to the dinner and dance reception at the Nemsis Shrine Center in Parkersburg by the Marietta Trolley.

Serving as hosts at the reception were Jane Schott and Debbie Handschumacher, aunts of the bride; Sara McAlarney and Lynsey Handschumacher, cousins of the bride; Bonnie Wells and Sara Stephens.

After a wedding trip to Niagara Falls, the couple reside in Marietta.
