Kristina Nicole White and Joseph Ray Atkins were united in marriage on Aug. 21, 2010, at The Woman's Club in Charleston. The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Geoffrey Saunders.
The bride is the daughter of James and Marjorie White of Parkersburg. She is a 2004 graduate of Parkersburg South High School and a 2010 graduate of West Virginia State University with a bachelor's degree in social work. She is the case manager at Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central West Virginia
The groom is the son of Johnny and Lydia Atkins of Seth. He is a 2004 graduate of Sherman High School. He received his certificate and licensure as an journeyman electrician and is finishing his degree in auto cadd and electricity. He is an electrician at Greenwood Inc. in Institute.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. She wore a detailed, fitted bodice ivory dress that flowed into a soft and flowing chiffon skirt. The empire waist was accented with hand-beaded lace and ruching detail. The back of the gown was with beaded lace detailed from waist to hem. The look was completed with a double pearl necklace, a cathedral ivory veil and a shorter ivory veil.
She carried a modern, natural hand-tied bouquet of hot pink gerbera daisies, yellow roses and white baby's breath.
The maid of honor was the bride's sister, Tonya White of Chapmanville. The bridesmaids were Rebecca Beha, Rose Wilson and Jennifer Workman, best friends of the bride. Each carried a smaller version of the bride's bouquet. Kayla Atkins, neice of the groom, served as the flower girl.
Grayson Cox, best friend of the groom, served as the best man. The groomsmen were Jason Atkins, brother of the groom, and Cecil Brock and Ryan Long, friends of the groom.
The groom wore a black tux with a white vest and tie. The groomsmen all wore black tuxes with a hot pink vest and tie. Chad Holstine, cousin of the bride, served as the ring bearer.
The reception immediately followed the ceremony. The wedding cake was a four-tiered cake with strawberry swirl and almond flavoring. Each layer had a strip of hot pink ribbon and pearl like circles.
Daisies were made out of icing and placed diagonally down one side of the cake with hot pink centers.
After a honeymoon in South Carolina, the couple resides in Charleston.
