Charles "Chuck" Hardbarger, 38, of Elizabeth, passed away July 17, 2010.
He was born Jan. 19, 1972, the son of Eskey and Vicki (Ross) Hardbardger. He was a 1990 Graduate of Wirt High School. He graduated from WVU of Parkersburg with a 2 + 2 degree and he held a teacher certificate from the W.Va. Department of Education. He was a certified welding inspector and educator thru Holbart, welding Instructor at WVU of Parkersburg for 8 years and an Instructor at Roane/Jackson Technical Center.
Chuck dedicated his life to the youth of Wirt County, Head Coach of the Wirt County Middle School Football team, Wirt youth Football Program, Wirt youth wrestling, Panthers Little League Baseball, Wirt youth Girls Softball, Orange Crush Girls Softball team of Parkersburg, Volunteer Assistant Coach to the Wirt County High School Football, Softball Teams, and he assisted with the weight lifting program at the High School. He loved spending time with his family and friends, coon hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his parents; his loving wife of 14 years, Dottie (Starcher) Hardbarger; his three wonderful children, Trenton and Madison Hardbarger and Ryan Litton, all of Elizabeth; two sisters, Sherry (Chip) Matheny of Elizabeth and Debra (Dannie) Snyder of Parkersburg; mother and father-in-law, Bernard and Kathy Starcher of Burning Springs; brother-in-law, Jamie (Brenda) Starcher of Burning Springs; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Martha Hardbarger; maternal grandparents, Charles and Mamie Ross; two uncles, Rick and Jerry "Butch" Ross; and one niece, Victoria Snyder.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Wirt County High School Auditorium with Pastor Dwight Goff officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday at the Wirt County High School Auditorium from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until time of the service on Thursday. Interment will be at Pine Twist Cemetery.
