Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hasse of Parkersburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Renee Hasse, to Adam Daniel Giardina, son of Dan and Debbie Giardina of Greenville, Pa.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Kathryn Taylor and the late Paul Taylor of Greensburg, Pa., and the late Genevieve and Ben Hasse of Johnstown, Pa. She graduated from Parkersburg South High School and received her bachelor of science and registered nurse degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is working at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh and is attending the Frontier School of Nursing in Kentucky, working toward her master of science and family nurse practitioner degrees.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Ralph and Helen Ohle of Greenville, Pa., and Dominick and Angeline Giardina of Greenville. He graduated from Reynolds High School in Greenville and received his licensed practical nurse degree from St. Margarets Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. He is employed at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh and is attending St. Margarets Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh in their registered nurse program.

The wedding is planned for Oct. 31, 2009, at Green Gables in Jennerstown, Pa.
