I'm not from Ravenswood but I know quite a few people from there and I've heard the same thing from them. Lots of idiotic drama.

I like Ravenswood. It would be nice to see it move forward and attract more business....impossible with people that want to keep things like they were in the past.

I sat through some of the meeting. Garret kept going on and on, basically whining about how Mayor Ihle doesn't consult her and the rest of the council every time he he uses the restroom. She and her cohorts want to micromanage Ravenswood.

What's up with the "weak mayor/strong council vs. strong mayor/weak council business? I wonder if the Red Devils doesn't have a social studies teacher willing to allow her to sit in on a Civics class.

What did you expect from a town that has a church on every corner? If the church members can't get along then why would the people who are running the town into the ground be any different? There are very few businesses left and those that are still open are being stuck with more requirements to do business. Our business license went up 850% in one year while others stayed the same. The only thing that doesn't require a seperate license is toilet paper and cigarettes.

Small town politics. Ravenswood has suffered long and hard from the "Old Boy Network" so to speak. Sometimes you do need new blood and progressive ideas to move forward. Is this mayor ignorant to some things? Sure. I think this lovely little town needs to observe the unofficial definition of insanity which is "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results". If they want change, make changes. If they want a return to yesteryear, then be honest and come out and say it.
