you can see in the picture that the drain is much higher than the alleyway, it's not surprising that the city didn't bother putting it in correctly the first time That drain is useless, water will never reach it unless it's four or five inches deep. They must not realize that water runs to the low spots not to something with concrete built up around it. The city should fix the storm drain, it's their's to service and it's ineffective.

" the catch basin is NOT 4 OR 5 inches higher than the alley " complainer

Someone has poor reading comprehension skills.

Its plain as day that the drain will not do its job. Looks almost like its on a slight grade.

It's painfully obvious from the picture that the drain is useless in its current location. What idiot thought that would be the best place for a drain? It also doesn't surprise me one bit that Newell says it's not his problem. This lady can get expert witnesses to testify in court for her and get whatever she wants.

I bet it if was one of Newell's friends, relatives, or a big donor to his campaigns - I bet it would be fixed in a heart beat - but since this lady is "not in the know" she will be hung out to dry - no pun intended.

We had a low spot in our yard and put in a French drain to solve the problem.

This lady is 73 years old, so lay off! What the he** do some of you want her to do~~get a shovel and fix it herself? She has a problem and is seeking help!

Typical city answer: Ignore it and it will go away.

@citycomplainer13...why are you so hateful? I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but this is an elderly lady, and you're coming down on her mighty hard with your comments.

Oh, I forgot, you're Newell's mouthpiece.

Why is TAX NEWELL doing all interviews? Does he not trust his department heads to talk to the press? Or is he afraid they will tell the truth so this way he keeps them quiet. Don't worry Bobby, the truth is coming....

I have a feeling this would have had a different outcome if this occured at Wyndemere.

I'm not sure what City you are living in with 33,000, but last I saw it was a little over 28,000 with Morgantown on our heels.

4thebetter, you are wrong once again. The city installed the drain incorrectly, so it's without a doubt their responsibility and their job to fix it or pay up. Bloated Bobby better order this fixed before yet ANOTHER lawsuit gets filed against him.
