The truth is they don't even really know how much she took. She was in a position of public trust - she took advantage of that trust - she needs real jail time.

When are they going to start executing these white collar workers when they break the law? We can't have them messing with money and not paying the ultimate price for their greed. ##sarc/off##

Can the residents of this area not read? The amount is $1000.00 (One thousand ) not $100,000.00 (One Hundred Thousand) either way she is a common thief but there is a MAJOR difference in the two figures.

One more thing - if you get caught with a couple joints - what is that a year in jail? So she gets less time than that for $100,000??? Just don't get it.

Let's see - if she took that much from a bank she would be old and gray by the time she got out, if she did. But you steal from your job and its a slap on the wrist? How messed up is that? Stealing is stealing - thieves belong in jail period. AND she needs to pay it all back I don't care how long it takes.

Wow. $140,000 and only 30 days in jail?? Prosecutor must have been asleep at the wheel on this one. Although the don't seem to convict anyone. Maybe, Teflon when the Editor writes on this he could find out what ever happened to the lawyer that was arrested months ago.

truth be told, the government of the city of Vienna, be it the court, city council or whomever is so allegedly corrupt overall that this is chump change. and the fact that it took four (4) years to catch shows how ineffective the auditors office is. it was noted in another editorial that the state auditor's appear to close to those they audit. fewer cups of coffee and more attention to detail.

I will never understand why someone who has a decent job would do something like this.

Can't wait to see Jim Smith's Sunday editorial. Over $100,000 dollars of taxpayers money taken. He should have one heck of an article on this.

Everyone pays for what they do. Part the courts set value on, part the person has to live with it on their conscience, but the one that really counts is Gods' judgment.
