Just got back from the library, and I thought you were serious with your offer, and the reference material was for you to prove any of your points just in case I didn't take your word for it. I kind of knew you wouldn't show, pretty easy to talk on here anonymously but in person, that's a different story. No harm no foul, maybe next time.

I'll be at the wood county library at 5 if you want to meet, we will have plenty of reference material, I'll have black jeans on, blue shirt, and i will be in the history section, see you soon.

Stick with me grid, makeshift raft, inner tube, dock, branches tied together with rope, get the idea, many things can be construed (sorry, you will have to look that one up)to be a raft. As far as my problem with you, you didn't seem to mention it in your retaliatory post toward me. You are a constantly negative person who has nothing positive to say. Does that sum it up for you?

Other sources state the two men removed the dock from the Little Kanawha so their trip was over soon after it began.

Hey off the grid, how come everything you comment about is negative. Are you related to Denver? Because that is what he does too! I think most people are pointing out that about everything people do today is monitored or questioned by the government. They should have stayed out of the barge lane but floating on inner tubes used to be a big thing in the past, now its ruined thanks to the stupid democrats. Just kidding about the democrats, but everyone is quick to blame a political party on here so I thought I would join in!

Wouldn't it be interesting to hear how they locked through all the dams upriver? Nobody else seemed to mind them passing on their downstream trip.

I don't understand some of the PN/S's reasoning. RANDOM21 didn't post anything half as nasty as some stuff I've read here. Actually, I thought it was quite funny!!

Jail them, the same as riding a bicycle in the middle of the interstate.A boat with barges don't need that to try to miss.

Well whatever random21 posted, PNS didn't care for it. Anybody want to repeat it so we can all laugh?

Oh, I remember now,... we now know where an 'infamous' creek is located, the one where you go up it without a paddle.

At 21 and 22 they ought to be able to make a decision, whether it be good, bad or ugly. DNR at its height.

@DCGibson: The only part of your post I agree with is about the DNR. But you must understand, that they had to show their 'stuff', since the only thing they ever get to do is kill animals, so this must have been a real treat for them.

These 2 adventurists are lucky. I wonder if their parents knew what they were up to. I hope they have learned their lesson!!

I suppose floating downriver on an innertube is now verboten too?

What? You're not allowed on the water without an engine or a motor? Sure, they should have had floatation devices, but ya know people used to travel the rivers with only paddles, wooden ones too.

Well we showed these two hooligans ,how dare they venture about on West Virginias river ! I hope they are doing hard time at the North Central Regional Jail! Wouldn't been better to show these folks some West Virginia hospitality instead ?Kudos to Joe S for helping these kids that might have been over their head , and the DNR you can always count on these guys to act like the SS "May I see your papers please"Why not advise them of the potential danger they were in ? And were they fishing at the time ? Give em a break !
