Why give employees a raise on the back of citizens. If city needs user fee then they don't have money for raises.like I said before if employees don't like it let them get in the unemployment line with everyone else

Longevity should mean something. Employees loyal to the city of Parkersburg should be rewarded for their experience and knowledge that they have acquired throughout the years of service. These employees know how to do their job more efficiently with higher quality in less time. The city council is being penny wise and pound foolish.

why? the city puts that money they get from those working in the form as with-holding is put in an interest bearing account. it remains in such an account. the city is still drawing in such an account. if you are on SSI you receive c.o.l.a. increases. the person put in the money when the eccon. isn't as high as now. therefor - the benefits should track c.o.l.a.
