WV Joe, in the video you see Mr. Young turn to side so he clearly could see what was going on.

I guess it's just too difficult to say "We made a mistake."

We will always find mistakes in the past. What is important is that we do the right thing in the here in and now, so that that someone in the future cannot refer to this situation as an error. Teachers are guardians and should always exercise judgement that cannot be questioned. This is no small mistake.

If there's a list, I wonder how many central office (long tenured) names were on it? There are long forgotten, and some not so long, skeletons over there. Just open the closet doors and get out of the way!

Oh, so tenure can protect against repercussions for doing bad behavior? What a wonderful world.

Were the previous acts by teachers with tenure?

The precedent has been set. Rumor has it his lawyer presented the supt with a laundry list of names of teachers and staff who have not been fired for bad behavior.

Nextdoorneighbor. You are totally wrong. I feel what he did may have crossed tje line in some people's eyes but it doesnt mean he should be fired. I happen to remember an un named Driver's Ed instructor from P.S.H.S. that was arrested for D.U.I. and he wasnt even fired. It is and has been my opinion for many years now that it is time for a change at The Board of Education. These people need to be put on a limit of how many times they can be part of it.

Young has to go. If he is rehired, it will give the impression that what he did was ok. It will also set a precedent that an employee can commit an act worthy of termination and get a third chance. He got his second chance when he wasn't fired.
