This is a good law. West Virginia should have passed it long ago. Think of the dads, moms and children that would be alive today being with their loved ones if the law had been in affect long ago...And to think, car and medical insurance costs might be lowered it the law is vigorously inforced too...win, win.

I haven't read the actual bill, but don't think it requires police officers to pull over everyone not belted in, just allows them to do so.

The only downside of that is it allows some police officers to play favorites. But that is true of so many laws, I don't think it counts as much of a downside.

Children not in a seat belt or in a car seat should be a primary offense. Adults should still have the right to be stupid if they so choose. I personally always wear my seat belt but I don't like the government making decisions that adults should make for themselves.
