We have all heard the horror stories about home rule, raising taxes, etc. but I favor home rule. If done correctly it will give the cities more authority to run their government and less red tape when it comes to tearing down abandoned structures, etc. If people are worried about a city tax, aren't you already "fee'd" to death anyway? Give home rule a try and let the people decide after a certain period of time whether they want to continue home rule or go back to the old ways.

If this statement is correct - "The Vienna Wal-Mart does not pay the B&O tax", then this new tax would not be necessary, right? How about Lowe's, do they pay the B&O tax? Again, these are questions, not statements of fact and if true then the citizens of Vienna should be outraged.
