I think that you people have upset Denver. Bad spelling and calling others "losers", he's morphing into Forthebetter/HelloKitty.

The only things exotic in Parkersburg are Pothole Bob and Denver and if talk and hollow promises could win a ball game they would be World Champions.

"coolbeans" can you name five of the 97 businesses that failed in 2012, or something to support your claim?
I didn't think so.

And build a brand new, state of the art stadium for this team. We definitely need another stadium and the members of the board of education might be good consultants for the project.

The statement Mr.Rooney gave in the tv interview says a lot. "..many exotic things have to line up for this to happen.."
We don't have even one of those exotic things.

Frontier League? That's the same league that had a team here before and no one went to the games. Just a really stupid waste of money.

Wow! What a waste of resources and time!! The previous team failed miserably...why would anyone think differently this time. The interest in baseball is on the decline...the economy is bad, people don't have discretionary income to spend on this, and people are leaving this area in droves because of lack of jobs...so why waste valuable tax dollars doing any kinf of study!!!

"north26103" is that why "Eighty-four new businesses made their way to Parkersburg in 2012 and that number keeps growing." because Mayor Newell has a history of promising things?

Newell has a history of promissing things. Consuming ink in the paper for months and then nothing happens. Remember the convention center? never happened! remember the hotel on 5th Street at the Salvation Army...never happened! Remember the Buxton study that was going to bring all these new busiensses to Parkersburg...never happened! Remember the several thousands of dollars spent on review of Fort Boreman to develope there? Never happened! Remember the new public debt jobs coming to Parkersburg? Never happened! Remember the private developers to take over the old post office/? Never Happened! and no one calls him out on it. He just tells another tale, with his next new big Newell project which never happens.

Perhaps Mr. Rooney should raise the capitol and build a stadium with private investors ....build it and see if they come. Phase two...tumbleweeds
