I would be curious to know what the pay difference or benefit is to become an RN in the area. I know many RNs (married to one) that drive to Columbus or Charleston because the pay is much better. Some medical centers reimburse for school if the employee agrees to work for a set time period. LPNs are being phased out by many medical centers in order to improve their "rating." Some hospitals in Columbus won't hire LPNs, requiring atleast a 4yr. RN degree in order to have a chance at employment.

There are plenty of LPNs that Camden Clark has decided to use as secretaries and nursing assistants that would probably be glad to work as nurses to help reduce this so called shortage that the area is experiencing.
