Saw this coming. Manchins a turncoat, a rookie trying to get his name in the books. Such a discrace to all law abiding gun owning West Virginians who believed his lies. I hope his NRA rating goes down now. Even associating with Schumer is a discrace.

This bill won't pass in the House which will continue the slow decline of the republican party.

More gun laws will not change anything, it seems to just be political positioning so the politicians can move on to the next higher office. If politicans want to make a difference and make our society better, the people have to make the difference, the people need to be educated to recognize mental illess and there needs to be facilities in place for these individuals to get treatment. And we need to educate people regarding mental illness so people wont be afraid of the stigma associated with mental illness and they will tend to get treatment needed without fear.

As for criminals....they don't go to bass pro shop to buy their guns.....so all the background checks in the world will not help.

As a society, we need to strive to be in a place where the people choose to not pull the trigger on other humans cause they understand it is wrong. Laws do not do that.

It's so hard to make ends meet these days, it's fortunate that some people are able pick up extra money buying guns for people who can't pass a background check. Especially when they're bringing money from out-of-State.

The recent mass shootings have spurn this debate, however, the guns used in CT were all legally purchased and the mom would have passed all the background checks, so how will any of this legislation have prevented that nightmare. Answer is, it wouldnt have.

Whatever Manchin's stance on gun posssession, he would unquestionably be a perfect candidate for US President. As a political centrist, somebody like Manchin is what is welcomed to restore this nation back to it's greatness. Likewise,Hillary Clinton,if she choses to run,and because she also is a centrist, could restore this country to the glory days of Bill Clinton.

Us gun owners are tired of being put to fault for this countries gun crimes. If you stupid people can't understand that then I don't know what to think of you. It is like taking all the beer out of town because a drunk driver ran over your kid. You fools don't realize that the firearm isn't the problem here. I have a loaded gun in my vehicle and have had for years. It still hasn't jumped up and shot anyone. Pull your heads out of your backsides and get real....

Anyone that thinks Manchin would be a good Presidential or Vice Presidential candidate obviously know nothing about politics. Manchin is a "Misfit", he still does not know which way to jump or which band wagon to get onto to get him the most support in country. Listen carefully to him, he nothing but a "Glad Handing, Back patting" do nothing. I think he is a nice guy, but that is about it.

I can't believe all the talk, time & money wasted on this gun control argument. The Constitution says we are allowed to bear arms, so we can. Does anyone realize this is like outlawing drugs? How's that workin'?
