The workers are upset afraid their good jobs will disappear. Fair enough. While they get great pay and benefits to "compensate" for the dangers they are exposed to - what does the genersl public who does not get that great pay and benefits get? Sick, through no fault of their own, just sick and possibly dying. How is that fair?

Readers, over the years, we have heard DuPont executives and their PR operatives whine and bash judges and juries and plaintiffs'attorneys. They consistently claim publicly the cases brought against DuPont or unfavourable trial outcomes are "unfair", "without merit", "groundless".

Keep in mind most tort cases are taken on a contingency fee basis. If the injured plaintiff does not win, the attorney gets nothing. That's a big risk when you are up against DuPont and their army of outside and in-house lawyers with an unlimited bankroll.

With its documented history of litigation abuses and fraud on courts, DuPont is a particularly nasty and unethical party to sue. See the DuPont BENLATE cases, and the recent Monsanto patent infringement trial lost by DuPont to the tune of $1 billion!...funfun..

"Attorneys helping the sick"just can't let that one go.I'll respect those attorneys if they take NO fee. They already made 22 million from Dupont who made its' money by making these chemicals. If there were no money to be made there would be no attorneys involved so spare us the phony concern

What DuPont Management has done to thousands of DuPont's unsuspecting regular employees at the Washington Works is nothing short of criminal. These unethical executives and unprincipled "scientists" exposed workers for decades to extraordinarily high levels of C8, loading up their bodies and pumping their blood with what they knew was a long-lived, bio-persistent poison. This conspiracy of silence and sleaze is absolutely repulsive to decent people everywhere.

Merely the opinion of one outraged citizen at large...funfun..

"Not toxic"?!! Quotes from the article:

"..by 1961 DuPont's own researchers concluded C8 was toxic "and according to DuPont's own toxicology section chief, should be 'handled with extreme care.'"

".. internal studies showed data suggesting workers exposed to the chemical have a higher incidence of health problems than those who were not exposed to C8."

".."In 1980 DuPont had confirmed internally that C8 'is toxic,' 'people accumulate C-8,' and 'continued exposure is not tolerable,'""

malformations in mammals in laboratory research.

Readers, it is one of the oldest and dirtiest corporate PR tricks for damage control: Launch distracting personal attacks and try to threaten independent-minded observers and critics from speaking out. Notice these hostile hecklers protecting DuPont Management never debate on the merits, never offer supplementary facts, never rebut what we and other readers have to say on the subject of the article ...funfun..

Folks, it sure did not take DuPont Management long to unwrap their legal and public relations defence, namely,

BLAME THE VICTIM

To that end, surrogates and masked operatives supporting DuPont Management have initiated not only sleazy personal attacks on the attorneys helping the sick, but on readers here who have differing viewpoints.

One heckler festering in his illiteracy, stumbles over the word, "probable". It means "more likely than not", "likely", "worthy of acceptance." "Probable link", as we understand it from media reports, is a term agreed to upon settlement of the original class action. Seven diseases and illnesses are now inextricably linked, probably caused by DuPont's extraordinarily toxic Teflon chemical C8. Incidentally, this same heckler tries to deceive readers by claiming C8 is not a "highly toxic chemical". It is insofar that mere parts per billion have been shown to cause cancers, development malformati

i hate to break the news to you folks, but there are already DuPont plants in China,Asia, South America, and 7 I know of in Mexico. I believe they can make anything made at WW at another plant they have somewhere else.If this plant becomes too problematic, they will sell or lease out parts of it(already done)shut down lines and move the product overseas(already done). The plant is a skeleton of what it once was back in the 60s, 70s, up until the late 90s,then it started downhill with mostly contract workers and contract maintenence. Mr.Deitzler will be a very rich man, as he will get close to half of the judgement and we will be left with a plant like they have in Charleston. You can look up a lot of this on the DuPont web site. It's your choice whether or not to sue.You should examine your motives...

Well, well, the greedy, ambulance-chasing, scumbag Deitzler is at it again. And Funfun, or is it Dumdum - get your facts straight. What was found was that there is a "probable" link between certain health problems and C-8, not that it is a highly toxic chemical. In fact, it's virtually non-toxic, mainly bio-persistant. Get your facts straight, tree-hugger.

Frankly and personally, fellow Readers, we are surprised Ms. Stemple, DuPont PR spokeswoman, did not trot out in her carefully cobbled media statement the usual DuPont Public Affairs Lying Points:

* At DuPont, SAFETY is the highest priority.

* DuPont operates to the highest standards of ethics.

* Respect for the Individual is a CORE VALUE at DuPont.

With blatantly false propaganda like this, maybe DuPont should move its comically called World Headquarters of Sustainable Excellence from Fortress Wilmington in the dwarf state of Delaware to Beijing in the Peoples Republic of China. ...funfun..

From what I hear there is a PROBABLE link between certain health problems and C8. So...there is a PROBABLE link between stupid people and the headaches I get. Where do I line up to sue?

"Lawsuits such as these ignore family history and lifestyle choices as a primary cause of health issues and disease in specific individuals," proclaims a hyper-defencive Robin Ollis Stemple, DuPont PR spokeswoman.

Ah...yes, the old Dunkin Donuts Defence!

Notice to all you unfortunate people who may have been sickened from DuPont's extraordinarily toxic, cancer-causing Teflon chemical C8:

You are deathly ill because of what your Mom and Dad died from, plus what you ate! DuPont is completely blame-free since DuPont Management did not control your diet or the diet of your parents.

Folks, this is a legal and public relations defence worthy of propagandists operating out of Beijing in the Peoples Republic of China.

At DuPont, it's IMAGE über alles.

The rabid supporters and surrogates of DuPont Management keep exacting this EXTORTION:

If you the people of greater Parkersburg do not allow the DuPont Company and its operations to pollute your bodies and the little bodies of your children with a little bit of toxic contamination, DuPont Senior Management will yank all those good-paying jobs and give them to the Chinese. After all, in the Peoples Republic of China, DuPont Management does not have to put up with protective environmental regulations and the Chinese will never complain about unsafe working conditions or toxic contamination of their land, water, air and bodies. Besides they are delighted to work for coolie wages and constantly bow deeply to DuPont officials! ...funfun..

It's remarkable how the advocates and apologists for DuPont Management completely excuse the documented misconduct and the dirty deal 100,000 Mid-Ohio Valley residents got from a grossly foul-acting DuPont and its dishonest executives. The children, the women, the men around greater Parkersburg were secretly and willfully contaminated with DuPont's extraordinarily toxic Teflon chemical C8 for years. And now DuPont Management and their PR cheerleaders whine about "valid science" and refuse to take responsibility for their environmental crimes over five decades! Instead they mock those hapless plant neighbours sickened by seven diseases and illnesses inextricably linked to their vile Teflon chemicals. ...funfun..

Figure it is getting close for Dupont to move out of West Virginia. Then watch the tumble weeds. The ambulance chaser will then sue for tumble-weed damage
