No doubt billions of dollars lavished on local and state governments through the federal “stimulus” program were wasted....

While I agree that Republicans waste as much money as Democrats, at least a bridge to nowhere provides jobs for citizens whereas the routers provided none. Unless you count the person that has to dust the routers.

Um denver, that was in a primary election so you should have said 72,544 Democrats.

Given the above, perhaps we should consider renaming them Dumocrats.

"Unfortunately, West Virginia has become a sort of "poster state" for wasting "stimulus" money-and we probably deserve the unpleasant attention."

What do you expect from a state that 72,544 of it people voted for a convicted felon serving time in a Federal Penitentiary in Taxes for President of the United States of America??
