RockefellerSenator is a true West VirginianJanuary 13, 2013Sen. John Davidson “Jay” Rockefeller IV’s announcement Friday that he will not seek a new term in 2014 may not have been unexpected, but it still was surprising.... Showing 6 of 6 comments

Senator Rockefeller is a man who could have spent his life in a mansion but instead dedicated it to the wonderful people of our beautiful but very poor state. West Virginia is a better place because of Senator Rockefeller and his dear friend Senator Byrd. They will be Missed!

In years to come, Rockefeller will be missed. With the passing of Byrd, and now with Rockefeller leaving the Senate, West Virginia will have no senior Senators representing us. Manchin will never gain seniority and the same with Shelly and McKinley. If we want a seat at the table, West Virginians need to invest in someone who is young. This will need to be the main issue when West Virginians go to the polls in 2014.

Senator Rockefeller has been a commonsense conservative that served the people of West Virginia and the Nation well.

Jay Rockefeller and Bob Byrd will indeed be missed. It is an indisputable fact that West Virginia as a whole has suffered immensely since Byrd's death. It will get worse with Rockefeller's retirement. Although it's a given that Shelley Capito will replace Rockefeller, she will not have the experience and the clout to immediately be a quick asset to WV in the Senate.

and he wants to take control of the internet, has voted for gun bans and the patriot act and tries to continue taking away freedoms of the American people in the name of security. He may have helped in some ways but he is moving toward the socialist path just like the rest of the Rockefellers.
