This is not the first time West Virginia has lost a bowl game and it won't be the last either. The expectation level for fans was way beyond reason when Dana H.got the coaching position. Let us not forget that since joining the Big East in 1991 we have only won "that" conference 7 times in 20 years. Only time will tell how many times we will win the Big 12 championship, if we ever do. It is a lot tougher league overall than the Big East. You could always figure at least 5 or 6 wins in the big East but there are no easy games in the Big 12.

I understand writers like Poe and Butta want to write great things about WVU. They are true WV fans such as I am. (I graduated from the school ) What gets me is that some people are not being realistic, they build up this hype, then they lose. An old saying, shut up and play, let your actions speak for themselves. Stop the hype because when you fail to succeed, everyone is going to let you you have it. Whenever WVU gets in the top 15 rankings, they get cocky, they lose. Been going on that way for 15 years now. The bowls that WVU has been attending is getting worst

Hey Butta, here is an idea. Put the blame on the recruit failures where it belongs, the coaches and recruiters. Stop talking to the players who have a history of authority problems, do some flipping research before you offer to a kid with a history of failure. If the recruiters and coaches would do some investigation of these kids background and character, maybe that would help!! Everyone deserves a second chance, but many of these kids have had a dozen chances just in one year. Hey recruiters, here is a quote for you; "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". Stop sighting trash, you may have some success. Oh course that's just my thought, who can argue the logic of sports writers like Butta and Poe?

Interesting through the first 5 games....nobody was talking about the roster and scholarships at that point. Excuses. Two things matter in college football. $ and W's

The "scapegoat" is with the media (yes you Butta) and obnoxious fans who talked smack all off-season about how your team was going to slice through the B12 like a warm knife through hot butter on your way to an NC! I guess you based it solely on the anomaly of winning the Orange Bowl last year...of course the rest of college FB felt you were overrated and would meet your demise - much like you have.

WVU will have trouble breaking .500 for the foreseeable future.

So we will be entering next year with under 70 student athletes under scholarship. Not going to cut it in the Big 12 or any other large football conference. The average fan does not understand that depth (and overall skill) of the roster effects each Saturday's outcome. Holgi has his hands full and this is not going to be a quick fix. Increased numbers in the each class and athletic ability will determine how long Holgi stays or wants to stay at WVU. Look for more JUCOs at DubV. Hold on boys it's goen to be a bumpy ride for a year or two more.

Mr. Butta you may want to investigate to see how many athletes we had on scholarship during the Nehlen, RR, and Stewart eras. The average fan would probably be amazed that we never had 85 scholarships players on the sidelines although we were the "Beast in the Big East".

Different beast now days in the Big 12.
