Civil War continues
I was privileged as many were to see the Civil War play at the Actor’s Guild. The play and cast were absolutely spectacular. We were all reminded of the human cost of the Civil War. The sounds of cannon fire in the background and smoke from the battlefield brought the Civil War to life. I swallowed hard as I viewed actual pictures of the human carnage of men and boys that died in the conflict. I fought back tears as letters were read from husbands to their wives, many their last.
I sat in my seat wondering how we could perform such murderous acts on our own family, on our own soil. I gripped my seat as a list of Civil War causalities were shown on the screen behind the stage. The numbers were staggering, how could this happen? In all, 620,000 soldiers lost their lives during the Civil War.

Voter for own party
I can’t believe the upcoming May and November election process is for real.

According to the recently released “Financial Report of the United States Government for 2006” the government has promised $45 trillion more than it can pay on Social Security, Medicare and other entitlement programs. The $45.
Dumping pets is cruel
My name is Jill Huling and I live in Mineral Wells on a fairly quiet road. Every spring people start dumping their dogs and cats. I am an animal lover and cannot stand to see these poor animals suffer but I cannot take anymore.
Let voice be heard
This year we have a chance to elect our new Family Court judge for the next six years. This is the most important position you can voice your opinion on. It impacts our children’s lives and our families’ lives. It will impact all of us.
