The annual Mayorás Music Series opens for the summer June 5 at the bandshell in City Park.
The series, a collaboration between Artsbridge and the city of Parkersburg, is held at 7 p.m. each Thursday through August and features a variety of musical styles.
Admission is free to the weekly concert series. Audience members are requested to bring lawn chairs or blankets to the concerts and picnics are encouraged. In the event of rain, the concerts are held at the horseshoe pit shelter near the bandshell.

Ruby Ruppel, the series coordinator for Artsbridge, said the organization and the city work well together with Artsbridge securing the artists and sponsors, and city employees providing the staging and sound system.
âMayor Bob Newell and the employees at City Park are incredibly helpful and supportive,ã she said.
Newell said the city of Parkersburg is pleased to again participate in the weekly music series.
âItás one of the most popular events held in City Park,ã he said.
The June 5 concert will feature Belpre resident Steve Sams with his popular tribute to Elvis Presley. Sams has been portraying Elvis professionally since 1997, and performs regularly throughout the tri-state area with his most requested engagements being high school reunions.
