Local events

A 10-week program of beginner ballroom dance lessons will be held Mondays from March 31 to June 9 at St. Ambrose Church Function Hall, School House Road at Porterfield.

The first class is 7 to 8 p.m. and will feature American dances like waltz, foxtrot and swing. The second class is 8:15 to 9:15 p.m. and will feature Latin dances like cha cha, rumba and mambo. The instructors will be Peter Ianniciello and Susan Stout.

Each class is $100 per couple and class size is limited to 10 couples. The cost to take both American and Latin classes is $190 per couple.
