| | Q&A with Cake Wrecks' Jen Yates!November 7, 2011 - Amy PhelpsToday I welcome Jen Yates, creator of the blog Cake Wrecks an author of "Wreck the Halls." Welcome Jen! How did Cake Wrecks get started? JEN: It started when a friend of mine e-mailed me the very first cake I ever posted, which read, "Best Wishes Suzanne/Under Neat That/We Will Miss You." Seeing that sparked the idea, and within a few hours, Cake Wrecks was born! What made you decide to publish two books? JEN: That decision was really made for me when agents and publishers started calling a few months after the blog's launch. Believe me, I did not set out to become a full-time blogger OR author! It's all been one incredibly happy and crazy wild ride. What's your favorite "wreck?" JEN: That changes on an almost weekly basis, but my favorite *kinds* of wrecks are the misunderstandings, like when a baker draws a big high HILL instead of a high HEEL, or the Gerber BABY instead of a Gerber DAISY. They're like word puzzles, only in cake, and I never get tired of them! Thanks to Jen Yates, for stopping by! Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | Blog Links |
