Justice has been done

May 2, 2011 - Jim Smith
"Justice has been done!" President Barack Obama told the American people in a late Sunday night nationally televised address announcing the killing of the world's most wanted man, 9-11 architect and terrorist leader Osama bin Laden.

Bin Laden was long wanted "dead or alive," and Navy SEALs accomplished the goal, killing the infamous al-Qaida founder in a firefight that left bin Laden shot in the head and several of his inner circle dead or captured.

The president praised the intelligence community for its diligence that ran down an August tip that led to bin Laden getting his just reward for the murder of thousands of American and those of other nationalities in the attacks on the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and the passenger downing of a hijacked airplane in Pennsylvania purportedly intended for crashing into the White House.

There is no praise high enough for those involved in tracking down and killing the man that changed the face of the world for evil.

Bin Laden is dead! The world may not be a safer place today because of the terrorist's death, but the United States has made good on its promise to bring the murderer to just -- even if it took nearly 10 years -- and that has to be seen as a clear message to all terrorists, even ones as rich and well protected as bin Laden. As presidents and military leaders repeatedly have vowed, the U.S. will hunt down and kill or capture those who terrorize the U.S. and or the world.
