| | Expected moreMay 24, 2010 - Jim Smith OK, I admit I hadn't watched "Lost" for the last two season because I "lost" interest when there were long periods between episodes and there were older episodes being repeated. But, that didn't stop me from watching both the pre-finale, two-hour recap Sunday night or the 21/2-hour finale, which I mistakenly expected to tie up all the loose ends that had been left blowing in the wind for six years. Big mistake! In essence there were nearly as many questions after the finale as there were before it. Yes, it did confirm what many in the newsroom had been speculating for years about the life-existence of the characters, but it didn't put the sequence of events or deaths into perspective. Was the entire six years nothing more than a stint in purgatory for the characters? Did they all die in the initial plane crash or did they die in order on the island? What about the fast-forward sequences and the sideways sequences? I guess I'll have to get the DVDs and try to watch the entire series in order so as to try and figure out the seemingly counterproductive plot line, which I tend to believe was written nearly week-to-week by the writers who had no idea where the series actually was heading or how long it would last. Six years to learn what many thought was the case in the pilot episode ... I just was expecting more. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | |
