| | Blogs Look Back at YA BooksApril 13, 2010 - Amy PhelpsEW.com ran an article recently about how there are blogs springing up of readers looking back on young adult series they loved as kids and seeing how they hold up now, which mostly leads to snarking about them in a bit of a Mystery Science Theater way. Sweet Valley High and the Babysitters Club are popular targets, but it got me thinking of other old series that I'd love to go back and reread again (and possibly giggle at.) I had a whole collection of "Sweet Dreams" teen romance novels that I LOVED and constantly was at the library trying to find more. In fact, my favorite of those, "Wrong Way Romance" by Sherri Cobb South, is still sitting on my bookshelf to this day. I think I may need to revisit it again and see how Darby and Bruce have held up over time. Is it sad that their names instantly popped to mind and I didn't need to look it up online? But it is nice to see that the Amazon reviews show that lots of other people have nostalgic love of that book. I'm not alone! I wonder what else Sherri Cobb South wrote... So what old favorite series from your youth would you like to revisit? Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | Blog Links |
