All talk, little action!

October 12, 2009 - Jim Smith
Unbelievable!

How many unbelievable situations can President Barack Obama get himself in?

The most recent was awakening last week to learn he had been award the Nobel Peace Prize for which he had no idea he had been nominated and readily admitted he didn't deserve. He's right about not deserving it. What has he done other than attempt to start a dialog with the Islamic world that previous president, George W. Bush, did everything he could to destroy.

In fact, Bush did just about everything he could to alienate most of the world from the United States. So was the Peace Prize for what Obama has done or a public condemnation of Bush?

My guess is it was the later, while being a pat on the back for Obama for at least trying.

Then there's all the unfulfilled promises Obama made to the gay community about ending the so-called "don't ask, don't tell" policy in the U.S. military. He continues to talk about killing the policy but hasn't done it yet when all it would take is an executive order from the commander and chief.

Then there's the trip overseas to try and persuade the Olympic Committee to put the Olympics in Chicago, Obama's home town. Again, all talk with no action.

Let's not forget all the political weight he put behind adopting a health care package, yet nothing has happened.

The economy appears to be improving, which is a tremendous plus for the administration, but we still don't know how much that plus sign is going to cost or what will be the long-term adversities associated with it.

So, is Obama all talk? Sure seems like it!
