| | Ignore PalinJuly 28, 2009 - Jim SmithSarah Palin has resigned from office, ending her first term as governor of Alaska 17 months early. Lest there be any doubt, I don't like Palin's political manipulations and I don't believe she's a viable candidate for any higher office. I believe she, like some of the talking heads on the 24-hour cable "news" networks, would be a viable commentator for her conservative base and views on a conservative network, such as Fox News. But, she needs to make the jump soon since her popularity, according to a recent Washington Post-ABC poll, is slipping. Fifty-three percent of those polled saw her negatively while 40 percent had a favorable impression. Last summer, nearly 60 percent viewed her favorably. Among Republicans, 70 percent viewed her favorably and her strongest supporters were self-described as white, evangelical Protestants and conservatives. So, let Palin become the female version of Pat Buchanan and Mike Huckabee ... and let the national media ignore her. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | |
