New stocks pages

In an effort to bring more information in an easier-to-read format, The News and Sentinel launched new business/stocks pages Tuesday morning with the first day of the week's stock market activity.

The new format has the stock overview at the top of the first page, with briefs outlining the top financial stories of the day, graphic displays of major news affecting the economy and news briefs, followed by investor tips at the bottom of the page.

The second page gives a recap of the New York Stock Exchange, American Stock Exchange, NASDAQ and Mutual Funds. The page also lists the activity of local stocks of interest and gives a graphic recap of stock activity.

Hopefully, the information will be more useful to more readers and provide a quicker reference on the overall activity of the markets.
