Wow! Check out the comics

The merger of The News and The Sentinel will see a new comics page beginning with Saturday's edition of the new Parkersburg News and Sentinel.

If ever I saw a metro-looking comics page, it's the one beginning with Saturday's edition. The page is literally full of comics as a result of the addition of the comics that appeared in The Sentinel.

The editorial columnists who previously appeared in The Sentinel will begin being rotated into the assortment of columnists previously in The News beginning Monday, which should make that a stronger, more content-driven page.

The lifestyles columnist previous in The Sentinel also will be included on the Living page of The News and Sentinel; again increasing content.

I see lots of pluses in the merger, including a stronger, more efficient newspaper that is delivered at the beginning of the work day and contains the best of both of the previous editions.

It's a win-win for readers and advertisers.
