One nation for all
January 20, 2009 - Jim Smith
Amazing! I didn't think it would happen in my lifetime ... a black man has become President of the United States.
I always assumed it would happen, but I thought it would be in my daughter's lifetime, not mine.
The nation's racial bias had progressed enough between the pre-Baby Boomer era and the Generation X era that I believed the Xers would see a black president or a woman president. And in the last election initially either could have been possible.
The nation has taken a huge step toward growing up and truly becoming a nation for all people.
