Why am I cheering?

March 19, 2013 - Jim Smith
The first day of spring is Wednesday, March 20.

While I'd normally be cheering over not having to back my rear-wheel drive car into my driveway, which leads downward to the garage under my house, it also means my much-dreaded grass-cutting season is again nearly upon me .... and I HATE to cut grass.

Of course, spring also means I'll have to finally trim the bushes and the ornamental trees in front of the house that have needed it for a season or so. And, let's not even think about the forsythia bush I started several years ago with one branch and has now grown far out of control and multiplied many times over. Every couple of years I have to take electric trimmers to it, and at least once cut the trimmers' cord in the process, giving myself a shocking surprise.

Then, there's the north side of the house that badly needs to be power washed -- probably more than once -- along with the patio and the shed in the back yard.

Come to thing about it, why again I'm I cheering spring is nearly here?
