Stop playing politics

December 4, 2012 - Jim Smith
Politics, politics and more politics, can't Congress and the president stop playing their petty little games long enough to do what is in the best interest of the nation?

For months the nation has had a financial gun pointed at its head and the president and his opposition in the Republican-control Congress have been playing politics instead of getting down to business and passing a financial package that would avert the so-called "fiscal cliff," which would financial hurt every American.

The president campaigned on a taxation and financial plan and he was elected. Gov. Mitt Romney campaigned on the Republican plan and he was defeated. Maybe that should be a hint to politicians on what the larger number of Americans see as a better plan.

Maybe the politicians need to step back and quit playing their idiotic "your plan is nothing and my plan is better" game a get down to doing what is in the best interest of Americans, not just the Americans in their political party or among those who heavily finance their political campaigns.

The line has been drawn in the sand and Congress and the president need a plan approved by the Dec. 31 deadline or we all will pay the price for their petty political behavior.
