Keep clippings off street

April 3, 2012 - Jim Smith
Lawn mowing season, unfortunately, again is upon us and in full push!

While I refused to mow the lawn before April, this past weekend there were tons of people joining me in the despicable task for pushing a mower around the yard doing what has to be done every week, whether we like it or not ... which in my case is a NOT!

So for about the next six months we all will be cutting the grass and some will be doing what is even more disgusting than having to mow. They will be blowing their cut grass into the street, causing slick spots and making a neighborhood look trashy.

I've always wondered if the same people who throw or blow their snow into the street are the same ones who blow their grass trimmings into the street? My guess is they are because they just don't care!

It really isn't that hard to mow without sending the trimmings into the street. All it takes is a little thought, which apparently is beyond some who mow their grass.

It's a cinch Parkersburg would never win a cleanest city title if judges ever made a pass around town on the weekends.
